- Aronia in the type 2 diabetes treatment regimen
In a triple cross-over trial, I will investigate the effect of 8 weeks intervention with placebo, fermented aronia and non-fermented aronia in type 2 diabetes patients. Aronia contain a high amount of antioxidants and two non-randomized trials in subjects with type 2 diabetes suggest that Aronia has a positive effect on blood sugar and LDL cholesterol. Therefore, Aronia might be used as a natural adjuvant to diabetes medicine.
