Research description

• The primary focus of my research is related to human skeletal muscle plasticity in regeneration and pathology. Resident progenitor cells are crucial in this plasticity and many questions are still to be answered about these cells in human context. Both intrinsic and extrinsic factors define the fate of skeletal muscle progenitors and dysfunction seems partly reversible. The goal is to understand the cell in its local environment for targeted optimization and maintenance of healthy skeletal muscle.
