Research description
- Reversibility of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in low birth weight individuals
Ectopic fat deposition in the liver may result in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, a condition associated with metabolic dysfunction and type 2 diabetes. I investigate whether individuals born with low birth weight have a higher risk of developing non-alcoholic fatty liver disease later in life. In addition, I examine the reversibility of the condition with a dietary intervention, that limits food intake to specific hours of the day (time restricted eating).
