Research description

  • The overarching theme for my research is insight into the consequences of a diabetic pregnancy. I’ve been using a host of methods, especially I’ve exploited the Danish registries and combined these with clinical data. Using these, I’ve published studies on morbidity and mortality in both mothers with diabetes and their children as well as consequences of maternal diabetes on the children’s school performance.

  • As an original member of the EPICOM group I’ve published data on metabolic and cognitive outcome in children of women with diabetes, including risk of diabetes and prediabetes, adiposity, fatty liver and gender and age risk differences.
