Research description

  • Effects of intermittent fasting on cardiac substrate metabolism
I investigate whether intermittent fasting improves insulin resistance, cardiac pump function and substrate metabolism, as well as brain perfusion compared to regular western dieting. The results of the study may help to clarify whether intermittent fasting should be recommended in the non-pharmacological prevention and treatment of insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes and heart failure.
