Mechanisms behind the development of insulin resistance, and factors discriminating physiological and pathophysiological forms of insulin resistance are investigated in diabetes patients, high-risk groups and healthy subjects.

The pharmacological research at Steno Diabetes Center Aarhus explore the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic characteristics of anti-diabetic drugs, and we hosts a trial unit (Steno Trials) capable of conducting phase 1-4 trials for drug development.
