Research description

• Research focus lies on dietary means to prevent metabolic syndrome/type 2 diabetes.
• Effect of dietary fats, dairy proteins and fibre has been studied in short- and longterm studies in healthy, pre-diabetic or diabetic subjects. The interplay between diet, exercise and bone health has attained great interest.
• Furthermore, the effects of bioactive substances in dietary supplements (e.g. substances from coffee and berries) is tested in humans and cell/animal models.
