Risk Prediction and Classification of Type 2 Diabetes in the Faroese and Danish Contexts: The Role of Familial Risk.

This PhD project is part of a larger initiative aiming to develop sustainable strategies for the prevention of Type 2 Diabetes in Denmark, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands.

The project focuses on improving diabetes risk prediction using a register-based model based on Danish and Faroese nationwide data, with particular emphasis on the Faroese population.

It investigates how population-specific data and family history contribute to diabetes risk prediction and examines heterogeneity between populations to improve risk classification. The overall aim is to enhance the identification of high-risk individuals to support targeted prevention efforts.
