Inequalities in treatment and prognosis of patients with cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes: Impact of demographic and socioeconomic inequalities
My research focuses on the intersection of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. Using both clinical and register-based approaches, I investigate disease mechanisms, treatment patterns, and long-term outcomes.
In clinical studies, I evaluate cardiovascular risk and early markers of subclinical disease among patients with type 2 diabetes. Complementary register-based research utilizes large national health databases to examine glucose-lowering drug use, socioeconomic and sex-related disparities in treatment, and their associations with long-term cardiovascular outcomes.
