Research description
- Trends in prevalence of iso-BMI categories among Danish school-aged children before, during, and after the COVID-19 lockdown: a nationwide register-based study of geographic variation.
This project investigates changes in prevalence of iso-BMI categories across all weight classes in children before, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic using register-based data. Childhood BMI are associated with early-life metabolic health and later risk of type 2 diabetes. By examining shifts in BMI and geographic differences, the study provides insight into how pandemic-related disruptions may influence the public health and long-term diabetes risk at the population level.
