Oral Galactose as a Substrate for Post-Exercise Skeletal Muscle Glycogen Repletion in Individuals with Type 1 Diabetes
Description
I investigate how galactose is taken up in skeletal muscle in people with type 1 diabetes compared with healthy controls.
Galactose may be an important substrate for maintaining euglycemia during exercise, but little is known about its muscular uptake and metabolism in type 1 diabetes.
Understanding these mechanisms may improve our knowledge of exercise metabolism and glucose regulation in people with diabetes.
