Research titel and description
Multifactorial Intervention to reduce Cardiac and Renal Oxygen Need in type 1 diabetes (the MICRON study) - A Steno 1 substudy.
My research explores how a combined treatment approach in people with type 1 diabetes influences heart and kidney function. Using advanced PET scans, I measure the oxygen need in these organs — a key marker of disease.
Since the heart and kidneys requires more oxygen in diabetes-related disease, lowering their oxygen demand may help protect these organs and reduce the overall disease burden.
