Research titel and description

The role of mitochondria signalling in female fertility
A significant portion of women suffering from infertility have polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Untreated PCOS increases the risk of type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and cardiovascular diseases. Our research focuses on the signaling pathways involving mitochondria as mitochondrial dysfunction contributes to increased oxidative stress, a known factor in the development of both PCOS-related infertility and insulin resistance.
